Antec "True Power" 430 versus power supply higher watt and lower priced

I am curious how those more experienced with day to day use and application of power supplies would view the prospect, proposed on this site, of many companies putting out higher ratings than deserved in power supplies. And how this would apply to the Antec ?True Power? ps. For example, would the 430 ?True Power? ps equal the actual output of another company rating theirs at 500W. (or 550W)
I just purchased a 430W Antec TP ps, and it looks cosmetically good and has the good reviews, albeit possibly ?purchased? through advertising in mags. But would, for example the ?Mirror Super Flower 550W? PS, available at 25% less than the Antec,
Or the AGPB-P4ATX50F 500 Watt Power Supply, also 25% less than the Antec,
and reviewed well here: http://www.atruereview.com/500w/agpb.php
be even a better idea, and Antec ?True Power? being a marketing and cosmetic factor, or not. I have a large system with 5 hard drives, opticals, etc. and the previous lower rated PS seems to have died. Thanks in advance

Antec also gives you a three-year warranty, two dual-ball-bearing fans and a moderately-low noise level. On the TruePower, if you look closely at your main ATX cable, you'll see two wires going into some of the holes, a feature you won't see on many PSUs (those are for the voltage-feedback circuitry if I'm not mistaken). And the TruePower family uses independent circuits to generate the 3.3V and 5V lines, another thing you will not find too often (not that I'm saying it's necessary).

Plus the fan grilles are gold-tone! :Q dude!

My rule of thumb: if you're paying less than the price of <insert average price of high-end PS here>, you're getting less of a power supply, no matter what the vendor says.

I had an Antec fail once about 3 years ago; I emailed, got an RMA, returned it and received a brand new power supply from Antec, shipped at their expense...and the replacement was 100watts greater than what had failed. That is real customer service.

Wow, excellent feedback from the big hitters, here. Thanks. I was not aware of the dual wires, although the mock up and look and feel of this Antec "True Power? unit is impressive, indeed. This 430 is a step up from the Antec 300W I had previously. I do not object to going with the Antec 550 or 480, but the store was out of stock of the higher output units. Cost is not the main factor. The judgment of the actual functioning and value of particular PS units was and is. The above URLs reference quite good reviews of lesser known name brands ? which I wondered if they are a better buy while being forced to charge less due to less brand name establishment.
Further comments and feedback are welcomed.
