Well gonna be upgrading and I found a very nice case the Antec Plus1080AMG with the True 430 ps. Just wanna know if this will give the power I need. Components are gonna be. Asking cause I heard Nvidia were dropping thier power rating down to 350w.

A64 3200+
K8N Neo Plat
6800u
OCZ 3500EB 1gb 512x2,
16x dvd
1 Samsung Spinpoint SATA HDD
1 Audigy 2 zs

P.S. Anyone have some good site with info about overlcocking Athlon 64s I need to start learning. Like what would the FSB and multiplier options be set to for me to run the 433 rating. I think it would be for the 3200+ 11x216 right? Could I run that with 4x quad pumped hyper transport or would I need to drop that down to 3x like I have seen in some reviews or is that when you get to higher frequencies. Some nice links to some articles would be appreciated.

It will probably be enough, but it might be close with that vid card. I use the Tru480 because I keep cramming more stuff into my case. If there is an option to upgrade, I think it might be worthwhile.

I really like this case though and its at such a great price with a good ps. 50 dollars less then any other decent setup I can find. Really kinda at odds about it cause of Nvidia along with the memory which will need a little extra to get it up to speed this power supply might not give me stability. Looking around some more to see what I can find for a decent price.

Why can;t you just go with the X800pro ? They use a lot less power AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY BUY ONE unlike the nvidia card.

nVidia claims that retail / production cards will run reliably with lower power supplies than 480 watt, but until the cards are actually shipping, who knows?

The review samples need both molex connectors, and nV says that will only be true for overclocking in the retail cards, so they are making at least small changes to the BIOS and/or design.

If you're really planning to spend that much on a card, you might as well get the 480 to go with it, then sell the 450 in the FS/FT forum to get back part of the price difference.

I want Nvidia because I want PS3.0 as well as the programmable video encoding since I plan to do some dvd ripping and movie making. Think I might go with the thermaltake silent pure power 480 and find a case to my liking.

Maybe I will go with the GT but I want to see how it performs and if it is truly a single molex card. If I went GT could probably have enough left over to get a very nice case setup but I hate thinking that it will hold me back. Just gotta wait and see if I could get a gt overclocked to 6800u stock performance I would be happy.

Hopefully my hunch is right that nvidia will be getting them out on the 15th when thier drivers are qualified.

If dvd ripping & movie making is important you might want to take a look at an Intel system. They will outperform AMD in that area.

amd will be fine with ripping and encoding. i wouldnt worry too much about that. since u are gaming, stick with the amd since it is a stonger performer overall.
