Antec TP-II 550W SLI Ready Power Supply

For the price and specs of this power supply, I am surprised to see rarely any talk about it. Anyway this PSU can be had for just under $100, and I was considering it for my new SLI setup. Any reason to not go with this power supply? Anyone who has one can put it any input on how you like yours, and if the voltages are good? The amps on the 12v rails are even higher than the Seasonic S12 600w.

PC P & C 510W SLI and the 850W SSI to name two.

PC P&C is not an option for me because I want a quiet powersupply. I would consider it if it was quiet. And 850W SSI? I have no idea what that is, but why the hell would anyone with a normal desktop computer need 850W?!?! That is beyond overkill.

It's not for a normal desktop. It's for a ultra-high end desktops.. Like my server. 🙂

Get the Seasonic S-12 600W if you want silence with performance.

The only way anyone could possibly need 850W would be if they were running multiple CPU's, an SLI setup, over 2GB of ram, 20 hard drives, 20 fans, etc etc... lol

But yea I realize the Seasonic 600w is good, that was pretty much my choice till I came across this Antec. It is less money, and has higher amps on the 12v rails. So I want to know why no one really talks about it, if it has such good amps, wattage, and the price is very cheap.

Kensai forgot to mention that those 2 PSU are $200 and $420respectivly LOL

LOL @ 420 for a PSU...

I'd buy a Stacker, and get two of the 510's before I paid $420 for a 850W

But yea the 850W is definately outta my league, and pointless for me.
The 510 woulda been a good choice if it didn't have such loud fans.

But basically I am looking for quiet power supplies, that are SLI ready, and have 120mm fans.
