I want an Antex SX840 case. I've heard that Enermax power supply is quieter, so I want Enermax PSU. Is it possible to buy only the Antec SX840 case with no PSU?

Also, will 350W Enermax PSU be sufficient for 17" monitor, 40GB HDD, XP 1800+, 2 x CD-ROMs, no OCing.

Are you saying that the Enermax is quieter than the Antec 412x? If so, where did you read it? I was wondering about this. Also, I think you can get the 840 case by itself... The model number to look for is the SX800.

EMS Computing has the SX800 (no ps) for $47.84 + shipping.

That's just one place.

Antec's naming system:
SX800 -- no ps.
SX830 -- 300w ps
SX840 -- 400w ps.

I also am curious about the noise of this fan. I was preparing to buy an 840 or 1040 as I have read elsewhere that this is a quiet combo. Can any owners comment on this? I like the Antec PS due to its voltage stability (vis-a-vis) the Enermax but noise is a consideration.

Actually the ADDA fan in the back of the 400watt PSU is a bit loud yes, but you can replace it easy (I did). I actually put this same fan on top of my new ALPHA 8045 and it does a great job. Remember campers the Antec 400watt PSU is one of the few (enermax does not) that has POTS inside to adjust your 5v and 12v Rails. boosting that sagging 5v rail that many of us EPoX owners need is a blessing.

Guys, its a power supply! It has a thermally controlled fan, which isnt supposed to be loud. I've had an Antec 300W PS, and it was not very loud. I've got 2 330W and 1 431W enermax, and they arent loud either. I just replaced an 80mm fan in a 250W PS with an Adda fan from my mom's Lian Li PC62USB. It's not loud either. I'd say get the enermax because of its quality, not because its fan is "quieter" than the Antec.

Antec PSU's are also very high quality. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with the Antec for the adjustable pots.

Does the enermax have the same problems with the new Epox KT266A mobo as it did with the 8kh7a or whatever that one mobo with the amd760?
