I don't really need 10 drive bays, but I've heard the SX1030B offers superb cooling for its price. Does anyone have insights as to which I should buy? The SX830 is cheaper, but I plan on doing some serious overclocking, so I need plenty of airflow.

im not sure which case has better airflow, but they both have the same basic setup
2 fans in the back and 2 in the front
the only difference is that for the 1030 one of the fans in the front is in front of the harddrive tray

The SX1030B has an extra 5.25" drive bay, space for 3 extra 3.5" hdd's. I know the SX1030B has space for 4x80mm fans and I think the SX830 does too.

I have an SX1030B and it's great. Really good airflow and plenty of space for hard drives and cd/dvd rom drives.

The Antec sx830 comes with an extra 3.5 removable hd thingy like the 1030. Well at least mine came with it and a few others got it.

If the SX830 cools as well as the SX1030B, I'll go with the less expensive option. I just have to make sure the 830 has enough room, but I think it will. :)

i tried to get a sx830 from onvia several weeks back only to get it cancel saying its out of stock while their site shows that it is in stock...then i order the 1030 for 'bout 10 bucks more...i really like the free shipping tho'...cus shipping the 1030 or 830 would probably be a b!tch...

The only reson I got the sx830 is because I didn't want to have to open a door every time I changed a cd or a floppy.

Same here Mr. Bush, I hate doors on any case. Plus most people do not need the extra internal 3.5" drive bays.

Okay question, I'm considering the SX830 as a possible case option. From the pictures I've seen, the front panel has a 3.5 floppy hole. How does one put a 3.5 HDD with a face plate into this hole?

jaylek55: The faceplate comes off so you can add drives with rails.

I just ordered my SX830 from Onvia.com and it will be here Thursday!

Setup basically the same... but if you are having harddrive heat problems that fan in front of the harddrive cage in the sx1030 will help. Have four case fans and damn it's loud compared to my old Dell with one huge case fan. I'm thinking about disconnecting one or two of the case fans...

I have the 1030 which is nice, and I like it alot. BUT I think the 830 has better airflow. THis is becasue one of the front fans are blocked by my harddrives.
