antec sx830 help needed...

ok, i have an antec sx830 case obviously, and i just got a maxtor ata100 controller. i need the cable to reach the very top cd/5'1/2 bay. how long does the cable have to be? anyone else got this setup. i have the 2 maxtor HD's on the IDE1 of the ATA100 card and want the cdrw and dvd on the second one. the motherboard is an asus K7M rev. 1.04 the ata100 card is on the first PCI slot to accommodate for shorter cables.

the cd-rom drives dont need to be on ata100, just plug em to the on board ide

24 Inch. IDE ATA 66/100 Flat Cable for IDE Hard Drive, CD ROM, DVD ROM or CDRW, 3-Connector, 24 Inches Long

CDROM, CDRW dont' need ATA100, or even 66. The readspeed will suit ATA33 will do just fine.

BUt if the cost is neglegible, then you might as well get the ATA100, in case you need that for more HDs later.

there's no point in bothering with the ata/33. just get the ata66/100 cables

thanks for the help guys, i'm going to go look at B&M's for the cable and a floppy drive because the one that i have has died.
