I just built a new system with the Antec SX1040BII case. I installed the CD Drives using the drive rails, but they don't seem to fit flush with the case, so I can't close the drive door. I'm stumped. There are 2 sets of holes on the drive rails and I screwed it on the 2nd set so it's as far as it can go. I probably did something wrong...so please help...:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Are there two sets of holes on your CD Drive? If not, make sure you've pushed the drive all the way in until you hear the "click" of the rails snapping in place. If it is clicking in place, use the other set of holes on the drive rails. If that doesn't work - take a picture and post a link to it here. Should be good for some laughs.

You must be doing something wrong. Cases have to meet certain requirements and i don't think they'd have different sized bays.

i guess the next question to ask is what brand/model drives you're trying to install. Maybe they're just not standard....

Just to clarify when you say "second set" you do mean the set closest to the front of your drive right? Also, just to make sure you're not mounting the drive through the actual holes in the drive rails right? You should be mounting it through the slots in the drive rails. That way you can adjust you drive...

I think he used the farthest back holes. Did that myself the first time I ever saw drive rails. Slapped myself in the head when I had rails sticking further out after locking in the case. Must not have done any further damage to my brain as I took it out, slid them back so I was using the most forward holes, and ta-da!!! They fit!

Does your drive have multiple screw holes? Maybe you're using the wrong set?

Pupdog5301: Welcome to the Antec world. You'll love the case. I'm running 2 Antec cases SX1040 and SX1080. Great cases.

And by the way, don't worry about your screw up on you rails, I'm sure the guys on this forum could tell there funny stories as well.

I've been there many times, and as long as we tinker with our computer systems, I'll srew up again.

ANTEC, great cases, but I wish they were cheaper.
