Got a question here. I want to get an Antec case. I am getting an Asus mobo. and P4 1.6A processor to go in it. Do I need the 400W power supply of the 1040B or is 300W in the SX1030B enough? I also considered Enermax and they are in between on watts somehwhere I think. Please let me know if I should play it safe and go 400 watts or if I am wasteing money. Thanks all. :)

I just bought the Antec 1040B with Antec 400W PSU from Newegg for a pretty good price.

Yes I have found the 1040B and 1030B both on newegg and other places for pretty cheap (for a good quality Antec case that is). I was just curious if the $30 more was worth the 100 watts or if I would even need it or not?

You might want to check out the Chieftec cases at Newegg too. They appear to be identical to the Antecs (but with an extra cage) and the DX-01WD-420W has been selling for $83 + $18 shipping. Ordered it earlier this week, but hasn't arrived yet. :)

A dual athlon system, a system with multiple 10k+ rpm hard disks, peltiers, etc.

Cool thanks for the info. I will only be running the P4, 19" monior, 3-4 case fans so the 300w should be fine then? thanks again

I'd get the 1040 or at least the 1035 just to keep one potential problem out of the equation.

That was kind of my thinking. Bet high cause I may want to keep the case for a long time and the $30 is not worth haveing to worry about getting another PS later....thanks

Yeah, especially when you consider buying the 412 PS separately is like 90bucks.
