Would you guys recommend this case over the In-win A500 for a duron 600 @ 1000 with an Abit KT7? Why?

Thanks

Edit: Well I just called onvia and they had 5 left in stock so I ordered one.

i have the sx830...i personally think it's...perfect. it comes with a 300watt amd approved power supply and 2 case fans. you can't get that from the in-win. get it at onvia for 80 bucks. compared to the a500...i think the antec is larger so i dunno if you care about size or not.

don't know much about the Inwin, but I have the Antec SX830 and it is great. it comes with 2 80mm fans, has slots for 2 more 80mm fans, and a 92mm fan just fits into the internal 3.5" drive bay for even more cooling power. also, it has the best 300w power supply in the business: the Antec 300w one...

I can heartily recommend the Antec SX830 over any other case that I've used. next best, the Enlight 7237.

edit: forgot to mention the easy access, no tools needed, latching side panel. very useful for those frequent case opening tweaking sessions.

Right now I have an In-Win A500 case. I was just woundering if I should upgrade it to a Antec SX 830, or should I spend the money on more ram?

Humm need an other place to buy it in canada other then onvia cus they won't have it for another month!

I also have the SX830 and it is the BEST case I have ever used! It is large though but with 4 80mm fans THIS CASE IS COOL (as in cold)! I have an AMD 1.1 GHz and a 64 meg GTS 2 (lots of heat from those suckers) and my case temp stays around 27C I have seen it as low as 24C early in the morning! The highest I have ever seen it was 31C after playing UT for 6 hours. Also this case is easy to set up! The 3.5in internal drive slides out with the push of the lever and the 3.5in external connection slides out with the turn of a couple of thumbscrews. I will never go to another case.

btw I had an inwin tower before this

I have an In-Win A500 and I hate it, the power supply is mounted vertically and is always in the way. If you are running a large HSF then you have to take the PS out and set it on top for the HSF to fit!!! I am going to order an SX830 to replace it. Oh and BTW I also had to replace the PS in the In-Win, it was a really cheap POS!!!

so I guess the Antec SX830 comes with 2 fans? Which other fans would you guys recommend and where I can get them.

Thanks

First off..my vote is also with the SX830...I got it also from Onvia a while back...anyhow, this thing is really well built...and with 4 fans...2 oem ones that came with the antec and 2 sunons...and this thing is COLD! I mean 24 C is the highest its been..early mornings it has been around 19C, but also take into account that its winter and its been cold lately (surprisingly).
Anyhow, with this case you never have to worry about system temperature...

anyhow, im going to build another system...and I will be using this case again.

o i forgot to say where i got the sunon fans...i got them from 2cooltek
and these push alot of air compared to the antec fans. The sunons are louder..just slightly..but all 4 fans on do make noise take into mind when getting this case.

The SX830 is a great case. The 300watt supply, though not the best, is more than adequate for most users (I have 2 running 24/7 for almost a year without issue). The case is very well designed and easy to get in and out of. I don't know if anyone makes a case that is more convenient to use. At $80 this case is a price/performance dream.

I've been putting 4 80mm panflo L1s in my cases. I make a little fanbus out of a 4-way speaker terminal ($3 at radioshack) by soldering about 10" of 14guage wire terminated by a single molex connector. I put a little velcro tape on the back of the fanbus and attach it to the inside of the case. Then I just solder extensions to the fan wire so that I can route all the wires along the edges and out of the way. Very clean, great air flow, and super quiet.

EDIT: I finally got around to opening my latest SX830 and discovered it had (2) 3 1/2" removeable bays instead of just one. Did Antec start including a second bay or did I just get lucky?

Is the sx1030 the same height as the sx830? I looks alot taller but when I look at the specs on Antecs' site it says that they both are 20.6" high. I would like to get the sx1030 since it is only $10 more.

moocat, I am not sure where you got the idea of 3 fan mounting locations for the sx1030...
As you can see from this LINK sx1030 HAS 4 fan mounting locations...

Only if you drop it through a pane of glass 🙂

It really depends on the fans that you put in it. Like I mentioned above, I use 4 Panaflo L1s (24cfm/21db) and it's very quiet in my opinion and maintains a case temp that is almost equal to the ambient temp of the room. If you stick 4 high speed/high output 80mm fans in there it's gonna be loud.
