I'm looking to replace the rear fan in the my super lanboy with an LED fan.
but newegg lists two diff sizes for depth i believe.

does anyone know the size that i should buy or have recommendations of what i should buy?

any rec's on brand names besides yate yoon (sp?) ?
some peopel said to stay away from thermaltake for some reason althought the reviews on newegg seem pretty positive.

Thermaltake's specs are very deceptive, so I hear, and some of their products constitute outright fraud (specifically, the 140mm fan with the rotating assembly from a 120mm fan). I wouldn't give them any of my money.

If you dont mind the noise Areocool Xtreme Turbines are very good. 2 of them in my case are fairly loud (Although i sit right by it) One of them shouldn't be too bad. Still a rheobus wouldn't hurt.

Are you guys sure that both can be either 120x25 and 120x38? I am looking into this case if it can indeed handle two 120x38 fans.

thanks for all the replies, i will stay away from Tt~!

nocturnal, that's what i've been wondering for the past few days.
maybe i'll just pull out a ruler and see how big my current fan is...
methinks that i may go to FS/FT to see what they have first.

anyone else is welcomed to reply!

Look, the depth of the fan can be any number as long as it doesn't interfere with something. You've got two boundaries: one being the metal sheet the fan is mounted to, and the other being some component on the other side, most likely the CPU heatsink.

Now if there were a cage for the fan, it'd be a different story, but that isn't the case (no pun intended).

I have a panaflo "high" 120x38 as my rear fan (set down to a minimum with my fanspeed controller) It fits quite easily with my XP-90, i don't think you'll have any clearance issues on the rear fan.

I'm sure a 120x38 could probably fit in front if you remove the air-restricting silver grill with the circular holes in it. I sort of like the blue glow myself.

i have the antec LED (not the speed adjustable one) in mine and it fits fine. dunno if that helps at all but since you are looking for an LED fan.

thanks all~!
i'm looking to spend less than $10 or around that range.
but it seems that mostly anything should do.
my heatsink from the cpu isn't too big, so that won't be a problem.
i'll keep my eyes open for a good sale.

That's what the fan mounts to so you can cut it out for better airflow, but that won't give you any more depth. However, a 38mm thick fan can fit up front if you do 2 things:

1) get longer screws

2) remove the "waffle" grill and use a finger guard
