Antec sucks.... seriously.... don't buy at all...

I think its the most idiotic thing to buy a 100$ power supply.

Video cards don't care if you constantly supply them power, hence get them their own power supply. Short out the atx pins so it will always be on and then tadah, a 20$ solution instead of a 100$.

The SLI Ready: Turbo-Cool® 510 Express / SLI Power Supply

 You can never spend to much on a PSU unless you dont need the power it provides. As for quality, you can never spend to much on it.

Then, here you can see two 6800 Ultra on SLI:

On the Andtech link, it says two 6800 Ultras will use 35% more power in SLI and on the second link I included here, it shows a 6800 GT overclocked at 130 watts idle and an incredible 233 watts at load. This doesn?t make sense to me at all. We?re talking over 450 watts for a pair in SLI. Is this insane? Just the video cards alone?

Anandtech link shows SYSTEM power... not just video cards

By the time I get a case that fits two PSU's (they're pretty expensive) or mod a case to fit two PSU's I could have just paid a little more for a quality PSU. Not to mention the fact that the reason people spend extra money on a PSU is because they don't trust the el'crappo's that come with most CPU cases or those that sell for $20.

didn't pcp&c have a batch with bad coils early this year even? not 100% sure, just remember reading about it at hard or oc forums.

at any rate, 90% of antec problems seem to come from the original true's, the 430's in particular. which of course was traced to bad caps.

my 3 current tpII's are like rocks and i know many people who love their antecs.

yes I am told they did!! I am also told they paid for shipping of the new PSU to your place of resident..it arrived with 2 days of the day you called them and verified your address as well as that you actually owned one of there PSU`s!! Plus they also paid for the shipping back of the old PSU!!

Again the PCPC people are a totally Class act!!!

i'm still waiting for op to change his subject.

because we all know the problem was with the asus board, not the antec psu.

so come on op. ASUS SUCKS..................

loser

I think it's funny how companies can build great quality products for years, but they get 1 lot of bad components, and they are branded for life. It's unfortunate, but too bad that's how it goes. I had 2 cases with bad USB ports... So, I fixed one, and exchanged the other. Just cuz I got 'lucky' doesn't mean that company sux. Now if it's common (like Deer power supplies of years ago), then fine, that company sux. But not if it's just a specific rev of a specific model. OP sux!

I got an Antec True power 430w for my new system, half-way through loading XP it started emiting an extremely high pitched noise. I stopped the fans to see if it was them but it was coming from the middle of the psu. So i sent it back to the shop, who sent it to Antec, they tested it and found no fault. My guess is they didn't even bother to plug the psu in and test it!!!!
