antec sonata

i was looking through the screws that I got from the antec sonata case... and there are 4 golden screws.... male on one side and female on the other.

what are these screws used for? i was thinking maybe to hold up the motherboard??? but there are only 4 of them. also if i put them under the motherboard then the back outputs (mouse, keyboard, usb, etc) won't match up. so what are these screws for?

Sounds like brass standoffs for the mobo to case separation; but usually there would be 8 or 9 of them. Are they longer than the standard standoffs? Got a picture or drawing for us?

it's been awhile since i've built a computer... so i didn't recognize them the first time. I think they are standoffs. Here's a picture of them taht i found.

standoffs

do i need the washers too? i don't have any of those with this package. not to mention... they only gave me 4 standoffs. i need to get another 5 somewhere then.... gah this is dumb.

EDIT: so did other ppl with the antec sonata get only 4? did you buy 5 more to complete the set of 9? did you get washers with these things? does it make the back outputs not matchup?

i'm pretty sure i didn't see any already installed on the motherboard. if there were any extra.... i probably did eat them...... do you have a sonata woodchuck?

As I recall; I got enough of the short standoffs (9) to mount my P5P800 . There were 4 extra, but slightly longer standoffs, plus about 4 nylon snap-in standoffs. There are more than 9 holes on the backplate and I believe some of them are recessed or dimpled and would require longer standoffs. They are for mounting mobos of non-full ATX boards. ie: micro-Atx etc. I use washers only if the board underside has metal traces that may come in contact with the standoff and therefore ground out the board. My ASUS board is well designed and the mounting holes (underside) don't have any of the power or data traces near the mounting holes.
Hope this helps.
