Antec Sonata - Upgrade PSU or replace case?

I have my current system in an Antec Sonata (I, not II or III) case and I'm looking to upgrade. Right now I'm looking at something like a Core 2 Duo E6750 + GIGABYTE DS3R + GeForgce 8800GT. I understand I'll need quite a bit more than the existing power supply puts out (380W?). Given that I like the case, is it reasonable to replace the power supply with a 500W+ model? Will I have space issues with that mobo or vid card?

380W is plenty for a modern system as long as the power is apportioned properly across the rails. I'd put the Earthwatts 380 (as I happen to have for sale in my FS/T listing) up against your proposed system any day. Antec made a strange decision in the placement of the front fan (on the back side of the HDD cage) on the Sonatas, probably to put the fan farther from the user's ears for quiet - so cooling may well be more of an issue than your PSU.
