The Sonata has a 380 watt power supply, the regular black one has a 350 watt power supply. Should I spend the extra $40 for the Sonata, or would it be OK if I just went with the 350 watt regular one?

Here's what it'll be powering:

Because he didn't take his pills.
Ever heard of bumping your threads? And yes, you've gotten PLENTY of responses to your 1789759123 threads.

Then just bump the old thread! Anyway, if you really want to use the PSU they gave, I'd say go for the SLK3700-BQE since its supposed to be the next edition of Sonata. It has all the Sonata features and has improved on it. Better yet if you can go for the SLK-3000 which is the latest model of that same series. However, IIRC, the SLK-3000 doesn't come with a PSU so you might have to spend some extra cash for a new PSU.

you comments do not add much to the thread...as a matter of fact it isn't even funny...showing your age or maturity...or both...

That's what I don't know. DO I want to use the included PSU? Is it really that big of a deal? Am I seriously endangering my system using the included PSU? Why the hell would they sell them if all they did was screw up your PC?

And why is the 3000 the latest model? Does that mean that the 2700 model I saw earlier is actually the latest model?

Can anyone just tell me what the best PSU and case is that I can get together for around $100? I can get the $50 3700 case with a better PSU for around $100, but why do that when the 350 watt one work just fine? I just want something good and reliable that will power my system.

I don't know about a 2700 model (are you sure its SLK-2700?). I did research on this about 2 months ago and around that time, the latest was the SLK-3000. They might have come up with a newer model but I wanted a silent case and that was the best one available at the time. The PSU included with the SLK-3700 is decent since its made by Antec and should power your system alright.

However, if you want more "leg room" for better future upgradeability, then get a slightly better PSU since even though it is by Antec, those integrated ones aren't as good as proper high-end PSUs IMO.

I think I'll get the SLK-3000 (even though it seems odd that the 3000 would be a newer model than the 3700), but can you recommend me a good PSU for around $50?

The pills thing was a joke referring to my OTHER post in one of his MANY OTHER threads. He should just bump his threads and wait patiently instead of starting TWENTY NINE posts on this same rig. Every time I check the General Hardware forum, I see another one of his posts. It's starting to get rather irritating...

Bluedeviltron: I have already recommended you a VERY good $50 PSU multiple times... Just get the XClio.

Get the SLK3000-B for $50 and get a TruePower II 430 for $75, $25 more but worth it I think.

Dude, why does it bother you that much? I won't be bothering you (hopefully) after tonight, but I have to get this stuff ordered. I'm just trying to clear things up at the last minute before I order it...

Well, I'm always glad to help someone out, but you've started a lot of threads... You've already gotten lots of advice, and if you need more, just ask in your original thread and edit the topic or whatever...

Doubt you will get a high-end PSU for that price. If it is really going over budget, then stick with the SLK-3700. But you'll pretty much be cutting it close with that system of yours using the 350W PSU that comes with the case. I actually have both cases and to give you an idea for temps. The 3000's temps are: for CPU ~3 C lower and for GPU ~3-5C lower than the 3700.

Sorry, but I'm not too used to US prices to be able to really suggest a good PSU for your price range or to tell you exactly how much of a wattage rating you should be after. Hope this helps though!
