i was just wondering if anyone knew whether the front usb ports on the Antec Sonata Case was compatible with usb 2.0.

sorry i just want to clarify myself. i know it can be used with high-speed devices, but are they actually high speed ports or merely usb 1.1 ports?

They are USB 2.0 ports if you connect them to USB 2.0 headers on the mobo, USB 1.1 ports if you connect to USB 1.1 headers.

Sonata should have USB 2 capable wiring to the front panel, but there have been lots of threads here about varius Antec models (not sure which - too many to keep track of) not being able to run at USB 2 speeds. IAC, Antec will send you a new front cable assembly if yours doesn't work.

Not all are USB 2.0. They're supposed to and even advertised to be.

The PCB even said USB 2.0 even though it didn't work. I had a Sonata and tried a USB 2.0 drive in the front ports and it didn't even detect it. Found out there was an issue with the Sonata and other Antec cases and called Antec up. They sent me new USB ports (free) and it works fine now.
