Antec Sonata and Asus PC4800-E

Something very strange started happening last week. i've had my system for about 4 months with no cooling problems. All of a sudden i'm getting overheating problems (screen going all wonky and pixelated, freeze-up and even a shutdown).

i think it's an overheat problem as Asus Probe History tells me temperature hit 72 degrees which is the upper limit.

looking inside the case, looks like the fan at the back of my Antec Sonata is turning rather weakly. sometimes when i check on it, it's not turning at all -- a quick prod will start it up.

is the fan the problem? is there something i can do to address this? repair the fan? replace?
Powersupply maybe?
something else??

also wondering how i can monitor case fan speed from my Asus Probe.

Yeah, I would replace the power supply. If you open it up to replace the fan, be extremely careful because there are capacitors inside that hold a charge and will shock you. I wouldn't risk it, just buy a new one.

Do you have a 120mm fan installed in the front?. If not and the fan in the back is not spinning, or spinning slowly, that would definitely make temps increase. I suggest replacing the back fan, (also check the HS fan and ensure it's working properly), and installing a front 120 mm fan.
