Antec SLK3700AMB questions

I bought one of these this week and it looks nice. I won't be installing a MB into the case for a while yet so it won't get any usage anytime soon.

I had 3 questions.

1> Any recommendations on 120mm fans to use in the front? Preferably quiet ones?

2> (this is really my most important question). I don't have any specific plans of what CD rom I'm going to install in this machine, but when I do the color will not match the color of this case. So I figure it'd be a good idea to paint the front bezel of that cd-rom (or burner, or whatever other devices I end up installing) to match the color of this case.

Being that these cases are pretty popular (and highly recommended) I thought I'd ask on the forums if people knew of specific paints to use to do this kind of thing. I've never done this before (and I have a few useless cdroms to expiriment with anyway) so if people have already found color matches or paints that work (and don't work) that'd save me a lot of hassle and time. I could pick a different color and repaint the entire case but I'd prefer not to... I'd rather just paint the CD/DVD drives to match the case.

3> Are replacement side doors available? I need to buy another case and would consider another 1 of these, except I want a window on the side panel, since that computer I'm planning on installing all sorts of fancy colored LED fans because I got a bunch of them. If not, then I'll have to consider a different medium tower case for that other computer. This 2nd case would be housing an AMD system.

1: Try the Enermax adjustable 120mm fan, its pretty quiet even at full speed or you can tweak it to your needs.

2: Try Vinyl Dye to color your CDRom Bezel Guide to Vinyl Dye

3: Not sure where you can find a replacement side panel maybe directron or svc.

Can I ask you SLK3700 users a question? How loud is the supplied 120mm exhaust fan, i'm going for a quiet setup but don't want to spend extra to replace that fan. Also, does it come with one or two 120mm fans? Can an 92 or 80 mm fan be mounted on the front intake as well?

It's way too loud for me but that's kind of a personal preference thing. If you want to use it I'd suggest running it at 7 volts to quiet it down some. The case only comes with one 120mm fan. The SLK3700 has excellent ventilation so you don't need crazy-fast fans to keep things cool. I'm running mine with one 120mm Panaflo L1A at 5 volts and that's plenty for my P4 2.4C.

Yes you can mount an 80mm or 92mm fan on the front. You'll just have to drill some mounting holes.

Follow the advise about the vinyl dye and use the dyes from SEM that you can get online from Dannys Dealer Supplies or at a professional autobody paint supply place. The color to use is the #39423, "Medium Quartz Metallic". It's the closest match to the Antec case color that I've found but it's not dead-perfect. It's a tiny bit too dark. Here's a pic.

Call or email Antec. They'll sell you one.
