I just received my Antec SLK3000-B from Newegg, and it came with some mounting brackets for the optical drives. They screw onto the drives and are supposed to be slid into place and securede but I can't figure out for the life of me how they do it.

Can anyone help me?????

With a screwdriver, Duh??

Maybe read the instructions???

Pictures???

Link??

Looks like the front of the slot may be blocked and you may have to pry it apart to insert the drive. It is like a Knock out. Looks similar to my SLK 3700 BQE. It is not that complicated. This is not rocket science.

Wow, not even sure that deserves a response.

No instructions, or pics came with the case. Thats why I've come here. This setup is not one I have used in the past where the drives screw right to the frame. These need the two attachments I'm tlkaing about to be mounted on the drives themselves and then slid into the bay. So, I'm asking how this is done since this is new to me...

Please only reply with something useful.

It's a nice chassis overall, too.

Thanks you very much for writing that guide. Do I use the screws with the hexagon shape to screw the motherboard down onto the risers?

The risers on that model of case use the coarser-thread screws. The hexagon-headed ones are the coarse thread, but they might be a little longer than they ought to be, which would result in them bottoming out in the risers before they clamped down on the motherboard.

As a result, I pick out coarse-threaded screws with the rounded heads because they are a little shorter than the hexagon-headed ones are. But whatever works 🙂 Glad you found the guide useful!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Sorry, just brings back memories.

I remember getting my SLK3000B. It took me a good 3 hours of hard work, cups of tea and maniacal hissy fits to get my 5.25" bays to work properly. I cant even remember how they went together.

Its a nice setup once you understand it but damn, Antec need to be shot for not providing any instructions for that area.
