Just got this case yesterday. UPS had football practice with it on the way to my house. When I opened the squashed up box and inspected the case the rear panel was slightly bent inward where the PSU attaches. I was able to tweek it back though, so I decided not to return it.
Nice case. Definately a squeeze, but easy to work with. I had this comp set up temporarily in a CompUSA case - a rebranded Cheiftec Dragon. I was using 2 80mm inlet fans, and 1 90mm exhaust. On this new case I was able to get away with only the rear 120mm fan and I have even lower temps than before. Strange. WAY quieter. If I drop the CPU fan speed, it's just a whisper. I installed the 80mm front fan at first, but I ditched it after I realized the temps were low enough without it. MUCH quieter without it.
It has a side air duct, which seems to make a huge difference in the CPU temps. I went from 34C/47C case and CPU temps at idle to around 29C/42C in the new case.
The PSU is very quiet, and the voltages are pretty solid. Lots of connectors, including 1 SATA and a fan speed monitor cable.
This was to re-box a computer that I had bought used from my work, it needed a new PSU so I killed 2 birds by replacing it with a less ugly case also. It looks great.
Here's what I've managed to squeeze into this, and there are still a few bays open:
Antec SLK2650-BQE
Athlon XP 2200+ clocked to 2400+
Thermalright SLK900A w/ Thermaltake 92mm 56CFM fan
Asus A7N8X mobo (v1.04)
768 megs DDR2100
52x32x52 CDRW
1 60G IBM Deskstar
1 40G IBM Deskstar
Radeon 7500 (UGH, this is the next upgrade.....)
AverTV Stereo TV tuner card
All in all I'd recommend this case for small rigs. It's not too small, just big enough to get the job done and the temps are great for the low noise level. I may consider adding fans with a fan controller.
Cons? The front fan inlet is below the drives, so the air does not cool them directly. My temps were staying in the low 30's, so no big whoop. Hotter, faster drives may need a better setup though. The bays have metal tabbed covers that need to be bent off, so they are not replaceable.
I got it for $65 shipped at ebuyer, but it was pretty slow and they use UPS which means potentially that gorrilas play rugby with your shipment, so I'd buy elsewhere if you could find it cheap.
Thanks for reading.
