In local Fry's stores only...

Well...since I am posting this hot deal can someone please answer my question? Will it be ok with a pci-express combo with 939 socket 64 3000+? It comes with a 300W power supply from antec.

THank you.

Might be enough provided you don't have a very powerful video card and more than one drive. Everybody else will tell you "hell no, go get an OCZ $120 PSU", but I say give it a shot.

Also, what store is this?

To answer your Q, probably no. I had a Enermax 350 watt PSU that had 17A on 12V rail and I had major stability problem. If you have on-board video or low-end GPU (X300), then you might get away with the Antec 300watt. If you have high-end one like X800XL, you'll definitely need more juice flowing on the 12V rail. You'll probably want at least 20A on 12V.

is the motherboard you are considering the one with onboard ATI x300?

the ati chipset is okay for now, but I would definetly consider going to Nforce 4 in the future.

Look at this link, you can get the CPU + mobo for $220 (plus free games)

http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant...n=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=80152

but notice that this is a microATX motherboard, so you can buy a microATX case, why r u buying this large ugly case ?

Here are a couple of very good (and cheap) microATX cases:

http://www.directron.com/sf101.html
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-123-070&depa=1

the second one has a very good PSU, can support high end video cards. But even the first one should be OK for integrated video or low-mid range video card.

i think he's buying the large ugly case because its free and future upgrades.

I think people have gotten a little insane about the I need 350 watts just to run a computer crap.

I have an antec sl350. It has that board, a radeon x700 pro, 3000+ (and has had a 3200) and a raptor, and 2 westerndigital drives (80 and 120 gb) , a wifi card, and a dvd writer.

runs fine. I plan to move all that stuff over to a microatx case with a 200 watt PSU. a lot of SFF systems with 939 support run fine with 200watts.

Then again apparently the idiotic computer enthusiast media has brainwashed everyone into thinking we all need a 480 watt PSU to run the slowest 939 cpu with integrated video.

You need to put in After Rebate in the title, unless the Fry's in your area is actually selling this case for 14.99 out the door.

BayArea Fry's price is 44.99 plus tax with a 30.00 rebate.
