Antec SLK-3000b

Just received this case today. Build quality is excellent, much better than I anticipated. This could very well be the best bang for buck case at this point in time. Amazon is selling them now for $43 shipped. I highly recommend this one......

Yup, I've heard it's an excellent case. Too bad I've already have my 3700AMB... oh, well... I can always mod it to look just like the 3000B.

What PSU did you get?

Looks like the only difference is the extra ventilation holes on the side panel. Anything else I missed? I thought the SLK-3700 already had a pretty good airflow system. Granted, one intake and one exhaust isn't the right balance - the PSU has an exhaust fan too. But putting the extra intake fan near the top? I just wonder that that wouldn't upset the airflow patterns. And the extra holes over the expansion cards seem like an inlet for dust, while not offering much cooling advantage - the heat's going to be at the top of the case, isn't it?

To the OP, does the 3000b front bezel match the paint on the rest of the case? I have a 3700 already but I don't like the front bezel cuz it's cheap plastic and poorly painted compared to the rest of the case...

Yeah, it's pretty much the same case, except that the 3000B is TAC-compliant and has a lower restriction exhaust grill.

more exhaust than intake is a pretty good airflow pattern IMO. It leads to less turbulence within the case. If you flip your cpu fan over to suck off of the socket, you can just blow the hot air directly out of the side panel as the case comes with a cpu air duct. The other side panel vent holes would be very advantageous for people who own the Zalman ZM80 graphics card cooler, or perhaps even any of the GPU coolers. If you are afraid of dust, just go to home depot, and buy a 15"x9" piece of air conditioner replacement dust filter for 99 cents. Cut it up, and attach it to the parts of the case that you notice dust coming through.

Just picked up an Antec Neo 480 at Fry's for $50 AR + tax. Awesome case and PSU for less than $100.

Well, the front is classic Antec plastic, but it does match the metal case pretty good. It looks good to me as one unit. I am not the type to sit and stare at my case anyway, I just want it to cool well and by the looks of it, there's going to be zero problems here. I'll know in a week or so when I put it all together.
