Antec Silver Compound Formula 5

Yeah, but shipping is another $5!

Still a savings of $1, but have to wait.

And I might use it all - 2 dozen systems to apply to.

BTW, it is more likely a 3.5 Gram tube or about 0.11 Ounce - enough for lots of systems when you only need a really tiny dab (about the size of a rice grain) for each.
. But are these systems for use by normal people (not like ATF denizens 😉 ) and will the CPU be left alone (not fiddled with) for a good long time (one hopes)? Then you might consider using Phase Change Thermal Interface Material (aka thermal "pads") as AMD recommends (buy it from AMD's main HSF supplier, ajigo.com - it is made by Shin Etsu) . AMD's retail HSFs come with it already applied - all you have to do is clean the top of the die and the bottom of the HS with alcohol and dry them with a coffee filter (lint-free) and mount the HSF... Much less messy. Do a good melt (PM me for instructions if you don't know how) and the performance will be close enough to AS5 as to make no difference - and you won't have the potential of needing to redo them all at some point in the future. Or you could just buy HSFs with grease or pad already applied - Speeze/Spire models for example.
. AS5 is cheaper from SVC.com and they'll ship it First Class Mail - save even more. But you'll have to assume the shipping risks as they don't insure such shipments - the extra $1.30 sort of defeats the purpose.
