Antec powersupply FAN ONLY does not work

I have an Antec 430 and when I try connecting my fans into they don't work. I've tried Coolermaster 80mm and an Enermax 120mm... none work when I try to plug it into the fan only molex. Any ideas? is something wrong with the power supply?

If the fans you're trying are thermally-regulated or variable-speed fans, then don't use the Fan-Only line from the power supplies. That would be two layers of voltage regulation, resulting in the fan motor getting so little voltage that it may not be able to run.

hmm that may be why. the enermax fans have a screw connected to them that allows u to adjust the speeds. if i bought a fan contoller such as the sunbeam rheobus would this also cause interference with the enermax fans? also, i was thinking of getting this to lower the voltage of the fans.
