Hi people,

I intend to setup an SLI system and I understand from some of the posts that it would be best to have 36A in the 12 V rails. Due to certain constraints, the only power supplies that I can buy are Antec. Does anyone know if the Antec TP480 and/or the Neopower 480 can deliver 36A in the 12V? Also, do either of these come with more than one connector for the PCIe?

Thanks.

If I remember correctly you need over 500 Watts to run SLI, I believe the reccomended amount is around 600W. So I doubt seriously that either one of those is going to run SLI, now it does depend on what cards you are going to be using.

Yeah you won't be able to run those on a 480Watt. You are looking at at least 600Watt and anything that butch will probably have good Amperage on the rails

No, you won't be good with anything under 500W. I would recommend the Antec Truepower 2.0 TPII-550. It's got all the juice you'll need.

I know that wattage isn't the only thing that matters. If you get a 600W crap PSU with 18A +12V, it won't run stable. You need 500+ watts and 32A+ to run SLI silky smooth.

hmm....Unfortunately that still does not answer my question. Which antec power supply gives 36A in the 12V rail?

I also agree with the first one. Thats the power supply I also plan on getting myself. Its $99 - $20 rebate with free shipping at Newegg.com right now. You might want to hop on that deal. I wish I could right now, but I'm broke.

They're both from Antec..

Personally, the TP2 550W wins my vote.

Everyone saying get the first one, what's wrong with the second one. Reason I'm asking is because I'm picking up my Titan550 tonight from UPS and it has the powersupply. It should be good right?

The first one is intended for the desktop market. The EPS12V PSU is SSI complient. It's made for the server market.

EPS12V is for server-grade motherboards that require 100% uptime and such, whereas ATX12V is for desktops and mainstream computing. Only get what you need, hence I still recommend the first one. The Titan 550 is a server case, and comes with a server PSU.

Edit - Dammit Kensai! Are you stalking me or something?!?!
