Antec Plus660AMG front firewire port and Asus P4PE?

Has anyone gotten the front firewire port to work on an Antec Plus660AMG case with an Asus P4PE mobo? I've connected the Antec firewire leads as best I could to the mobo's connectors but the port isn't working. I've read the manuals on the case and the mobo to no avail.

The Antec doesn't have exactly the same number of leads as the Asus firewire cable does, but I don't know if that is the problem or not.

The rear firewire port works fine. I'm using Windows XP.

I heard that Antec might make a replacement cable that would plug into the case's front circuitboard but terminate in a standard Firewire plug, which you could then plug into a PCI Firewire card's internal port, or out the back of the case and plug it into the motherboard's included FW-out port. In fact, I heard that from AntecCSR, but when I called the inside guy at Antec and ordered these, I got stock cables and circuitboards just like what I already had. So I'll believe it when I see it, I guess. :p

If I were you, I would just pick up a FW extension cable, plug it into the P4PE's stock rear FW outlet, and bring it around to the front of the case for now.

Here's a link to a post I wrote at another forum about connecting the firewire to an Antec case. Although my case is a Plusview1000AMG, the firewire port is probably the same as your Plus660AMG. But in short, the problem with the Antec firewire cables is that they are mislabled. Just scroll down to my post under the name jojiboy and you'll see how I hooked mine up. Good luck.

You were right jojiboy, the TPA and TPB wires were wired backwards. Everything seems to be working fine now. I had to connect the wires thusly:

Top row___: TPA+, VG, TPB+, VP, empty
Bottom row: TPA-, empty, TPB-, empty

Thanks for the replies guys!

No problem. Glad to hear you've got it working.
