Antec P280 psu question

Hey all,
I'm looking at buying the Antec P280
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129179

I have a question about the PSU being mounted on the bottom. Should I mount it with the fan facing the bottom of the case, or turn it upside down so the fan is pointed towards the top. Does it matter?
Seems like the fan wont be able to move much air smashed up against the bottom of the case.

For whatever its worth, I have a Corsair 650watt

The P280 have and intake on the bottom, so you can mount it either way.
The power supply fan doesn't need to move a lot of air to cool itself. It is not like the old days where the power supply fan is also the case exhaust fan.

I would mount it downwards to separate it from the rest of the airflow. I like having airflow from front-low to back-high

Mounting the power supply with the fan facing the bottom of the case works best because it's receiving the coolest air when positioned this way. Also, you'd avoid dropping screws into and shorting the PSU which does happen with some people.

This. If you flip it over, then you'll be drawing hot case air instead of room-temperature air. You also reap the benefits of the fan filter (as long as your remember to clean it 🙂).

The only situation in which I would have the fan facing up is if the case is sitting on carpet. I'm not sure that the psu would get sufficient airflow in that situation.

Edit: I bought the P280 a few months ago and love it. If you don't have to buy it right away, then set a slickdeals deal notification for it and pick it up when it goes on sale for $80 AR.

i have one, and honestly it depends on the situation, if you have carpet and/or need some extra gpu heat removal face fan up, if on a shelf or hard floor face it down.
the psu should have no problems with the cable length for routing cables behind mobo tray.
