Ok, I have edited my original post. My decision is now going to be either of the two cases in the poll. I want to make sure there will be enough room for a R680 X2 or a 8800 GTX length card.

Which ever case you vote for, please include a little explanation why. Im looking for the better features, easy installation, air flow etc:

I have read numerous online reviews for each, and they both kind of seem comparable.

It has always been hard for me to choose upgrades. So I am going to keep this active for 3 weeks. And which ever case has most votes by that time, is the case I will purchase. :)

Here are the two cases in question.....

I don't think windowed sidepanels are being sold. I have seen posts on this forum where people send in the case and had a window cut for them, quite professionaly, it wasn't exactly free though.

I own a p182 myself, black finish though. It's quiet, most important for me. It cools pretty decently. It's easy to use. And it looks very sleek. Not really comparable to an antec 900, that case is more about having a flashy look, and getting really good cooling, won't be as quiet, but does cost less.

Hmz, I'll make some, but I won't be able to upload them till tomorrow. Perhaps more people will pop in with their own P182's, or p180b's rev 1.1, since those are basicaly p182's, with a different name.

Heres a really long thread with a LOT of opinions in it on the p180/p182. One guy, jonmcc keeps whining about the case, stating things as if they are the truth. For the love of my p182, please ignore his posts or at least take them with a grain of salt.

I have both cases. I like the P182 better.

You're comparing 2 different styles of cases. If i were looking for a quiet case i'd get the p182, if i was looking for one with maximum airflow i'd get the 900.
Personally i'd choose the 900 and add some filters to keep the dust out.

Other reasons to get P182.

No filters on the 900. P182 has filters on front.

P182 looks classier.

P182 has better cable management.

Have you seen this? Check the demo animation and the Video demo.

Ozoneman...where or how did you get that window in your case ?

The information is in the link that MarcVenice gave you.

I went with the P182. I wanted something classy without all the LED, neon and side windows. Also I like the fact that it has a door covering the front. I have 2 young kids that otherwise wouldn't keep their hands off the buttons. (PC is under my desk)

I don't have many pictures but here's one I took while testing. Not nearly as neat and tidy as Ozoneman's system. :) But since I have no windows I don't care much about the wiring.

Yay for the p182. Sure the 900 may perform better but the 182 is sexier. Wouldn't of gone with the mirror finish one though but hey thats up to the individual. Keep that door open and the filter cover off for you 8800gt aye.

So any one else have an experiences with either of these two cases ?

Still looking forward to your pics MarcVenice :) Patience is a virtue

From the first P180 and P182, is there *any* differences compared to the P182SE ?

The first p180 had some issues, like the door that could break of after some time, it had no cable management, etc etc. Some minor annoyances, which they all got rid of. I'll take the pics within the hour, wether I can get them onto my pc is another story, but I should be able to do so tonight, in 4 hours or so ...

-EDIT:

Pictures taken, send you a PM.

So far the P182SE is winning. And after I seen MarcVenice's pictures of his, I can understand why it is winning in votes :)

Nice setup you got there Marc

i've never worked with the p180-182 series. from the demo video, the 182 looks very nice. i'm just not sold on the air flow in there with the compartments & w/ the filters & door closed, it just doesn't seem like it will cool very well.

i did however just finish a build for a friend with the antec 900. all i can say is i'm pretty much sold on it. cable management isn't the greatest, but who spends much time looking inside the case after the first week anyway (not me). the cooling is simply amazing, it's direct and to the point. cable management or not, it's got the cooling taken care of. VERY quiet too, w/ the tri-cool fans set on low. nothing but cool air blowing out of that thing.

i like having a door because of our toddler running around, but i'd give it up to get into a 900. i've got my eye on the prices, looking for a <$50 deal to push me over the edge.

Come on people. Place some vote's here. Especially the guys/gals that is currently using one of these.

*If* I decide to go with the P182SE, it will be the one from Performance PC with the window.

Just buy it allready, it's a great looking case, you know you love it. It's also a good qaulity case, provides all the space and cooling you need, and it once again looks STUNNING. Costs a few dimes, but it could be cheaper if you buy the case yourself, with rebates and stuff, then ship it to them to have them cut out the window, and have them ship it back to you.

P182>Nine Hundred by far. I think the 900 looks horrible, but aside from that, the P182 has excellent cooling [compartmentalized], better cable management [better airflow --> better cooling], fan filters [less dust --> slower fans --> quieter], no excessive bling, and looks classy, especially the mirrored SE version. P182s are also much much quieter than 900s; the P180/182 is the preferred case of a lot of SPCR users.

They cut my window a little smaller at my request so the hard drive cages didn't show as much. I would suggest that you consider this if you are like me and not really into seeing the hard drive cages through the windows.

Having worked on both the 900 and the 182, I can say that overall I do like the 182 case better. My biggest problem with the 900 is that there are no filters for the fans and that if the 200mm fan dies on you, it's 35 dollars to replace it. As for how loud both cases are, I say that the 900 is a hair bit louder, due to the side window and it being more open. The 182 makes cable management very easy since they added several holes on the motherboard tray to route cables behind the case, the 900 you have to line them along the board itself and with the window being there, it doesn't make for a nice cable job.

Right when I was going to go with the P182SE Mirrored case. I found another one that *seems* almost as good in looks and style.

The Nine Hundred is out.

So I know the P182 Mirror won between it and the Nine Hundred, But what about the Lian Li V1000 Plus ?

Please vote. :)
