i cant find the plug in for the beeping, so now i cant hear my mobo beep on errors. are all p180s like this? cant find it in the manual either.

There is another thread on AT about there being no speaker in that box. You can get a real cheap one and find a place to mount it, I'm sure. That's going to be a popular case with the enthusiast crowd, so other folks who also miss their beeping will be dealing with the omission; I'd put the question about how to mount the speaker, though, in the Cases & Cooling Forum on AT.

I just built mine and noticed that when a new email rolls through in Thunderbird there is no beep... 🙁
WHAT????

Since you've obviously been using computers for only a few days, or perhaps your English as a Second Lanuage class isn't going too well, let me explain.

Thunderbird, the open source email client, has a setting under Tools -> Options -> General, which lets you choose to "Play a sound" when new messages arrive. The default settings for this uses the computer case's speaker and plays a short beep.

If you have any other noob questions feel free to ask, anandtech.com forums are the place to be!

Interesting.... Op the p180 does not have a case speaker, though you can purchase one for it.

ROFL, Yeah I will remember this and laugh tomorrow at work when I sit behind my desk in my nice big office, and collect my money as Net Admin of a corporation. I do use Thunderbird at home only, and I also use the alert notification sound, very strange because by defualt the sound doesn't come out of the case speaker on my machine. I am a noob to this site yes, but I am not a noob, so thanks for the advice.
