Antec P180 with 680i Mobo

Every review I've read has complained that the Antec P180's layout makes it very difficult to run power cables to the ATX motherboard header and auxiliary 12V power cables on the motherboard with standard length PSU cables. However, I'm considering an EVGA 680i mobo which has the ATX header on the side.

Anybody have a similar configuration? Any reason to think a Seasonic M12 700 PSU wouldn't make the stretch?

I doubt the ATX connector will be an issue but the 4/8pin 12v atx connector absolutely will depending on PSU

The Seasonic were a concern regarding this since as I recall the ATX and 4/8pin were about 20 in and when you try to go across the mobo this maybe present a problem

I just bought a Corasir 620w and the ATX/4pin/8pin are like 19in..alittle shorter so I bought extensions

I once asked OCZ rep about this since the 520w Powerstream had ?? short cables as well..they said extension cables were not an issue

Yep, I had issues using a NeoHE 550 of all things (you'd think you'd be fairly safe with an Antec PS :| ). It fits over the video card and all, but just barely, and I'm sure it doesn't help airflow out the back of the case. I'm not sure it'd fit if I had another fairly large PCI card of some sort or anything like that.

Thing is, I haven't been able to find an extension for that type of connection anywhere either :(.

EDIT-Meant the 8-pin connection.

Bingo! Thanks, I didn't even notice that. Do they even make extensions for the 8 pin 12v atx cable?

Now that I'm looking closely at the 680i layout, it's evident that eVGA designed it for cases with an inverted motherboard. Look how easily the PSU cables could be connected to the 680i in the other case I'm considering--the Lian Li PC-101.

I just got the P180 and the OCZ GXS 700. The ATX 24 pin line has a little length to spare on my MB (DS3) but the 4/8 pin connector barely makes it running over the top of everything. I am going to buy a 12" extension so I can run it along the edge and make things neater looking. Here's a link for you. The price is dirt cheap but the shipping sucks. It's still cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. NewEgg sells a combo pack of both lines but the lengths are only 6".
