So this summer my neighbor tossed out a antec p-180 case
Instead of letting it go into the landfill I kept it
I need a power supply for this Beast it has been difficult to find one
The power supply lives at the bottom of the unit
It also needs to be able to run 10 red hard drives
As I'm going to be turning this into a Nas server
If anyone has a recommendation for a power supply around the $75 us mark or less that would be helpful
Thank you for your time
And now I want to use it as a server case

Wow. Blast from the past. I currently use the P280 in my main rig. The P180 has terrible airflow. The idea is nice. Put all the hot stuff in the bottom. The lower intake fan is in the middle of the case. But the HDDs impede airflow. That doesn't leave a lot of room for the power supply and the cabling.

I had to throw out my P180 (x2) and P182 in 2015 because I couldn't find a taker locally. Like you, I used it last as my home server case. I filled it up with discs as well. It was difficult to work on and maintenance.

I just retired a P183 and put it in storage. The P183 puts the lower fan in front of the HDD cage. But there is no cooling fan on the top HDDs in the 5.25 bays. I was always fretting about them running so hot. I solved the problem by getting a Lian Li E-ATX case and bigger drives.

I think I was using a Seasonic S12 in the P180/P182 cases. I had to use some splitters to power all the hard drives.

you don't have zip ties or duct tape in your world?

You could put a fan if you weren't using the bays. There is not a lot of room to move things back and still host large drives. It was not a good case for usage scenario. Was just passing along my experience.

Here's some pics of the build in 2009. I realize that the top drives are PATA drives. The bottom HDD cage is using SATA drives. You get the idea. Even with SATA power/data cables, it's still cramped when filling the P180/182.

I believe I had a Antec Earthwatts ea380 in my P182. Both are still floating around here somewhere. I replaced the PSU before I gave the PC to my mother which she is still rocking today except in a different case.
