Antec p180 owners

Hey how many of you replaced the fans in you Antec p180(b) and replaced it with fans you could attach to the motherboard fan headers?

Never even ran the stock fans in mine, I removed them right away and replaced them because I wanted to be able to connect my fans to a controller. I have 2 sets of fans for my P180 now, a set of 4 Coolermaster silent led fans and a set of 4 Yate-Loon low speed fans. I keep swapping them out trying to make up my mind on which set is better. I tested the stock fans and they were much louder and I imagine would be a pain in the butt to have to open the case every time you wanted to adjust fan speeds.

I use Yate loon or Coolermaster fans..in general IMHO the tricools are noisy and at low speed do not move enough air...

but noise is subjective..try them out and see what happens

Cool thanks im more concerned about keeping my rig cool than noise level although i dont want it to sound like a vacuum cleaner

I have the front and rear fans set to low and can't hear them...but the top fan I have it at medium and I definitely hear it. I had to have the top fan higher though since it helps remove heat from the CPU cooler.

i have the three tri-cools on medium, but i took the scythe fan from my ninja and switched it with the top exhaust tri cool cause that is where most of the noise comes from. so one tri-cool is on my ninja.

i have three hard drives in the lower cage and the temps are dandy on all of them.

I have the rear exhaust and top fans on low and the lower chamber one on medium (it only has medium/high options). My case is the P182 revision so I can adjust the rear/top fans from the back of the case.

On low/low/medium I can only hear the case fans if my room is very quiet. I easily sleep with the PC on, I can hear it but it's quiet and not distracting/annoying.

If I up the rear/top to medium it's a noticible increase in sound, on high its very loud. With them all on high I get about 5-7c lower case temps and CPU temps maybe 3 or 4c lower under load.

On low the fans don't move a lot of air but they do the job. I have an extra Yate Loon I might swap in for exhaust out of curiosity. I'll post if I do.

Mine started "ticking" after about 7-10 months of use. I replaced 3 of them with silverstone ones that push a TON of cfms. 110 @ max setting.

Stock fan is only quiet at low, so I only keep the one at top as intake by reversing it. Rest of the fan controller by a Sunbeam controller.

Are the stock fans rated incorrectly? In my P180 book the medium setting is 56 CFM @ 28 db and the high is 79 CFM @ 30 db. I also see that the Yate Loon SLs rate themselves at 47 CFM @ 28 db. Is this just way conservative, or why does everyone switch to yates?

I'm using the stock fans all set to low. The only thing I did was swap the lower fan with the top fan to give me some extra room on the bottom and better airflow up top.

I think they are louder than 28db at medium for sure, check silentpcreview.com they probably have measured it.
