Antec P160, no system speaker, can i add my own?

can't hear the POST beep. Is it just me or does the P160 not come with a system speaker? where can i just buy one myself? thanks

Well take a look inside your case and see if there is one. Maybe it's just not connected (no connection- no sound ;-)). If it isn't connected get your mobo's user guide and and find out where you need to connect it.
As for buying a speaker, I don't have a clue where to get one.

All the cases I've worked with in the recent past have not had speakers in them. Some of my motherboards came with small piezo type speakers that are much smaller and can plug into the mobo and just sit there being supported by the 1" wires.

If your case doesn't have a speaker, its no problem to add your own. Rob one from an old 'throw-away' comp and you'll have the correct header. If not, rob one from a dead pocket radio or tape player and splice in a header from your parts box. You should be able to mount it inside your case and out of the way with hot glue or silicone on the back (magnet side) of the speaker - the cone would face inside the case. Be careful where you mount it so that if it came loose, it wouldn't damage anything if it came loose and fell............

I have the P-160, and I looked around for a speaker connector - didn't find one. So if you want one, you're gonna have to go buy one yourself.

Mind you, not that I actually care much about a POST speaker...

well i emailed antec and they said they'll send me one.

you can just get one of those little paizo speakers that plug into the mobo header and are about 1" long, just sit sticking out from the pins.
those usually come with other brands of cases, that's much easier than buying a crappy PC speaker and mounting it somewhere in the case.
