Antec P150 or Neo HE Series PSU's - Don't Do It!

My 550w NeoHE has worked fine from the start. Running 7800GT, two optical drives, four hard drives, 5 120mm fans, etc.

Guess I lucked out?

That sucks. I have a Neo PSU 480watt. It works fine though. Do you think it affects just the PSUs in the cases or the whole PSU lineup. I know mine isn't bad since it's been running for months, but it'd be nice to know anyway.

What's up with Antec and all this crap being bad? First the P180s and now the PSUs. I'm starting to dislike them.

The issue seems to be primarily related to use with asus motherboards. I have the powersupply that came with my p150 and it would not work properly. I contacted asus and supposedly there is an updated version to fix the issue. I rma'd mine and am awaiting the replacement. I'm hoping the issues have been worked out.

I had the same problem with the PSU from the P150 PSU not working with a Asus A8N-SLI Premium. I even had the same problem with the warranty sticker being broken. I'm pretty sure the case was brand new. The problem with the warranty sticker is that they stuck a pretty big gap so that it is extremely easy to break without even trying. They should have put a sticker over a screw or something.

My RMA is still in process, but the CSR said not to worry about the warranty sticker.

I've purchased my p150, and while waiting for my ASUS-board, I read about the problems with the PSU and ASUS-motherboards:

I decided to try the Neo HE430 PSU with my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe, and during startup, it failed windows XP. I put back the overclock but it wouldn't startup still. Then I put my old PSU back, and it worked again.
RMA here I come
I'm content though to have tested the bastard, before I get my Opteron, and just want the ****** to roll.

I hate Asus anyway. Their technical writers suck.

In the book it would say for example: Super Video Array Dock Sync Mod: Toggle it on or off.

Yes, but what does it do?! I buy MSI now.

I have a S050900xxx and it works find for my Athlon XP system. The P150 on the otherhand is plagued with little issues. The PCI bays for instance dont allow cards to sit properly. Secondly, the paint comes off real easily. Thirdly, 4 of the shock cords have snapped causing my harddrives to be found at the bottom of the case. I like the non-noise, but really, this is a bit much to compromise with...

Shoulda gone Lian Li like my first case...

I've had no problems with my P150, and my NeoHE has worked fine with a P4P800 DLX. Still there's obviously a serious problem with these PSU's for many.

Trying to decide between the P180 or P150 w/ a different power supply.

Planning on running a sli setup in th efuture with a dual core AMD.

Any other recommended cases?
