- pretty decent Neo 430W PSU (modular, sleeved)
- "suspended" hard drive mounting built in
- sound damping mats
- better cable management
- good fan setup (1x120mm rear, 2x92mm front)

I think it's good looking :)

Why is it worth 160?

Newegg photo's don't do it justice. I think it's great looking case, see it here.

1) doesnt come in black. DAMN YOU ANTEC!
2) from that review operandi linked:
"A touch of low level, low frequency noise could be heard. My guess is that this is most related to the resonant frequencies of the air in the case being excited by the vibrations of the hard mounted fan."

hahahahahahahaa. wut? what the hell is this guy smoking?

I agree with many of the above posters,

I would not spend 160 on this case... it just looks like something that is meant for a budget level. I know how a lot of us here feel that less is more, but I don't know this just looks...bland. Not doing it for me, get a P180/160 instead.

EDIT: I just look at the silent PC review, it looks a lot nicer there and I like the HD mounting but still, I don't see the justification of 160 yet.

it looks ok, really though, it needs to be black, and it needs to be bigger.

edit: wow I just realized how..uh, bad that sounds :D

To those who judge this particular book by its cover, do so at your own peril. :p Read that SPCR review, then comment. Functionally, that appears to be one superb case -- one of the best I've ever seen, taking all its attributes into account. If it was:

A) a little 'better' looking;
B) and if you could buy it without the PSU if you wanted to;
C) and it came in black too,

I'd rate it even higher. And this is coming from a definite non-fanboy when it comes to Antec! But as I said in another thread recently, I tip my hat to 'em with this case. It has a number of features I wish my WaveMaster had.

"Psssst: Hey, Cooler Master. Think maybe you could 'take notice' of some of Antec's ideas with this case and incorporate them into the next generation of WaveMasters? Just a thought. ;) "

It's in my wish list. As soon as some of my more important bills are paid off for the rest of the year, I'm ready to drop $1800 on a new system including the P150.

I like the features. Curious to the price sans powersupply.

Would like to see a black with window.

I really like it. Its functionality is excellent. The color is an "oddball" right now, but watch it's scheme become mainstream one day. It will be a huge seller imo.

mine should be here sometime next week

I'm hopeing to use the included stealth drive covers with a silver NEC3540

I doubt a beige drive would look all that good in a white case

Some beige drives match better than others, but the case color is a real "white" white so no beige drive will match perfectly. For optical drives, it's not an issue though because there are two swing-down "stealth" drive bay covers to use. I'm running a black optical drive in my P150 and you'd never know it until the drawer slides open.

White FDD's are available from Sony and one other vendor too, so you can match an FDD to the white scheme.

There's also white vinyl dye, for those so inclined.

Hmm... SPCR comments that the front intake fan doesnt do much for temperatures beyond cooling hdd's. Perhaps I need to find an even quieter fan than my 120mm Panaflo L1A for my intake fan.

P150 doesnt thrill me but

> Suspended HDD's, very neat but whether they'd be used or the difference noted by most users.

> 92mm fans at the front. Weird and feels like a step back but would work for multiple hdd setups.

> Acoustic dampening material. Benefits are questionable but points for a neat touch.

> Easy clean filter.

Some decent improvements which may be made by a quiet pc person.

Elcs, Paired 92s can move more air at a lower dB than 1-120.

If i were using a hot CPU, the bays that cover the upper 92 would be left open and a spoiler/deflecter would be installed in the rear of the open bay to assist the intake air in it's upward journy. That said, i don't like doors and much prefer *alu-mini-um*construction. :D

I posted this in another thread this morning. I just bench tested two 120x38 fans to decide which one to install for intake duty. A Pan and a Delta Triple Blade. Both start at 5v, both are near silent at 8V, the Delta doesn't make the irritating click the Pan does. At 12V the Delta Triple moves more air.

I remodded this case i'm working on from 2-92sx25 to 1-120x38. Looking back on it now,i wish i had just gone to 92x38 fans.

Not entirely correct, my 120x38mm Panaflo L1A does not make any clicking noise whatsoever at 7v.

As for 2 x 92mm vs. 1 x 120mm... I'll take your word for it.

And I appreciate you spelling Alu-min-ium correctly.

I need to mod my SLK3000B. Perhaps make the hole and duct fit a 92mm fan or just sandwich an 80mm fan in there. Got a 92mm Panaflo L1A on my SLK900A beneath the duct.... wanna try something a little different and draw the air more closely from the 'open air'. I desparately need a filter on it though. SLK's are horrendous to clean between those wafer thin fins.

I think what most people are trying to say is that there is a difference from looking elegant (like the P180) and looking plain (the P150).

Funny, I think it's the otherway around.
