They can plug into the mobo, or u can buy 3 pin to 4 pin adapter's that attach directly to the power supply...

Mine were the opposite, they had 4 pin molex connectors.
 
None of the Tricool fans plug into the MB, all use 4 pin connectors. I have NO idea where Potato go the idea that they were 3 pin fans.
