Antec or Corsair Power Supply

What do you buy between

Antec True Power 650 watts TP-650 ?

650 watts Corsair TX V2 ?

Is there too much power with 650 watts ?

The system have at least :

I5 3550

Saphire HD 7850

Both Power supplies are good units. You can't go wrong with either. They both use the same OEMs except for Antec likes to use Delta at times. They are all good units though.

Can i remplace the power supply by the Corsair 500 watts cx v2 on under system ?

Yes, CX500 V2 will work fine with that system.

Looking at your other thread, it seems you're buying from a local store in Canada. Do they have any of the below 500W units at a decent price?

Seasonic S12II 520W
Seasonic M12II 520W
Antec HCG-520M
PC Power & Cooling MK III 500W
XFX 550W

I'm asking because these are more in line with the quality of the Antec TP-650 and TX650 V2 units and offer the same 5-year warranty. CX500 V2 is a bit lower grade at a lower efficiency and shorter warranty, but still a good unit.

I just put an Corsair AX650 in my dads rig and I was impressed just by the packaging of it! Corsair and Seasonic are my personal favorite choices for a PSU, unfortunately I am currently running a Thermaltake Black Widow TR2 RX 850w. It was a gift so I couldn't turn it down. I look forward to putting it in my backup rig when I get some more parts. You can't go wrong with Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec though they all make solid units.

XFX is another great brand, seasonic internals with an antec price.

I haven't seen m/any good reviews of XFX PSUs, they always seem to have some not-insignificant fly in the ointment.

I tend to go for Antec HCGs in the computer builds I do. I've used 5 or 6 so far I would estimate without any problems. After a string of CX430v1's (5 or 6), almost all of which have been RMA'd once, and I think another one may need returning soon.

Oh, how I miss Corsair's VX450 🙂 Hopefully Antec's HCG range will live up to the same experience, whisper quiet and no RMAs. I would guess that I've bought about 50 VX450s and not a single one to my knowledge has had a problem.

Been buying the Antec Neo Eco series power supplies when Newegg puts them on sale....by the case. Have put over a dozen or so in builds and have yet to have one return with a problem. Love those darned things.....not to mention even the "lowly" Antec VP-450 has also working out quite well. Got a half dozen of those bouncing around without a single failure in those, either.

Those are decent. There's a thread in Hot Deals, you can get them for under $30 FS now, limit 5 per customer.

I have used several of the Basiq 350w and 500w Antec models... they are very reliable and it has been 4 years on them.
