i was planning on using the antec neopower 480w for my new sli system. I know it's pretty obvious that I'm gonna need a 500w+ PSU to run a SLI setup with OC involved but I looked at the ampage across the dual 12v rails and it was 18a and 15a. I've read in a few posts that you need 30amps at least to run a SLI setup. some input would be great.

if there are any other suggestions for good PSU, plz post. There's only a few requirements needed in my desired PSU:
-dual 12v rails
-pci-express connectors (dual preferably, but if not, it's cool)
-sata connectors
-good enough for sli setup and OCing

Oh yea, about the amps. On the Neopower it's 18 amps max on the 1st +12V rail and 15 amps on the 2nd rail (obviously mentioned) but combined it's 32 amps. If it's like the Enermax's I linked above then it means that the Neopower can share amps between its +12V rails.

e.g. 18A (12V 1) + 14A (12V 2) = 32A total or 17A (12V 1) + 15A (12V 2) = 32A. Gotta give credit to BentValve on that one.

this enermax is virtually the same as the new one above but it is 600W. newegg does not list it as "sli ready" but monarch does. its pricey but not as much as the pcp&c 510

I recently ordered the OCZ Powerstream 600W power supply from Newegg to use in my new system, which I plan to put two 6800 Ultras in an A8N-SLI Deluxe. I read two reviews on this line of power supplies, and both reviews raved over them, also when asking for power supply and case recommendations, the Powerstream was recommended to me more than once. They come in 420, 520, and 600 watt varities, mine was $210.00 from Newegg.com

The only problem with this PSU is that it isn't SLI ready. So you would have to go buy a pci-e adapter. Personally for me, this looks unpleasing to the computer modder eye.
