Good PSU, holds its rated wattage no problem. However, it gets kind of loud at full load. Not terribly loud, but there are quieter PSUs out there.

Visa Checkout, another 10% off, has returned. Updated OP. Of course I bought mine yesterday.

Tear down pics show small heatsinks. So it figures the fan has to ramp up under load. Thinking about it, these modern switching components must have much lower ON resistance, so a smaller heatsink works ok (despite reminding me of the gutless 300W junk psu's of yesteryear).

3570k OC'd and 7950 under water with 1.35v and several 120mm case fans set at 850rpm running furmark and I couldn't hear my 4 year old 620 NEO eco. That setup was nearly silent. Now with a 4690k at 4.6ghz GTX 780 flashed for overvolt mod and 1200 plus mhz still can't hear this PSU.

Curious under what usage scenario you are getting "kind of loud"?

wow, wish I'd known about the rebirth of the visacheckout discount thirty minutes sooner. Ordered a mobo earlier today, but Newegg is so fast on fulfillment that their orders are virtually impossible to cancel.

Wow, I just ordered this. I almost bought this exact model when it was $74.99 with no rebate. I have had two Antec PSU's made by Seasonic: one I used from 2001-2008 and the other from 2008-now, and the only reason I ever upgraded was for more power. Never had a problem with either. I can't believe a Seasonic 48A, 620W PSU for $23.

Yep, I bought this Antec to replace another Seasonic made Antec that I have been using since 2006. (It was running 24/7 for a great amount of that time as well.)

Looking forward to a long lifespan out of this PSU as well.

Oh yeah, my computers have run 24/7 since 2001; I only turned them off when I went on vacation. So 7 years and 6 1/2 years straight 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 50 weeks a year is what I have gotten out of my Antec (Seasonic OEM) PSU's.

I was budgeting $70-$80 for a PSU for an upgrade I was doing to my system (I absolutely refuse to buy anything other than Seasonic made power supplies), so to get this for $23 means instead of looking to spend $210 or so on a video card I'm going to look in the $265 range or so. Might hold out until the 960's release to see what that looks like, though I might just say to hell with the budget and go $65 over budget and get a GTX 970.

This has been my go-to cheap PSU for years.

And, at this price, yes, I bought another one. :awe:

20% code should have expired last night. 10% Visa Checkout coupon code gives a $29 AR deal, still pretty sweet. Updated OP.

2xR9-290's under full load drawing around 700W from the wall :sneaky: Which is why I said what I said - this is a well made PSU that delivers full rated wattage, but it does get kind of loud when pushed to its limits. 3570 and a single 7950 won't push it anywhere close to that limits though so I'm not surprised it stays quiet in your rig.

Nah, the go to cheap PSU is Corsair CX430 that goes on sale for 19.99 all the time occasionally dipping even lower (last month it was only 12.39 for a brief moment). I'd say the NeoECO 620 is more of a mid range, however at $23 that was quite a deal and totally worth a little extra over CX430.

Probably more accurate to call that overload and can get loud when used well beyond it's limits. When you have to daisy chain every single molex connector just so you have enough 6 pins you've gone full ghetto.

Good to know it's over-engineered though.

For the record I said 700W out of the wall, if you account for efficiency losses the actual output was probably right around 600W. So yes, I pushed it close to its limit, but I don't think I exceeded it. It still performed admirably, if albeit a little loud.

3 lb Antec PSU from Newegg delivered today. Whaaa? "3 lb" on the UPS label, but the box weighed more like 6 lbs. Don't need it, yet, but glad I got one. Packaging boasts of "Full watts, Guaranteed, No cheats".

Ugh, too bad the rebate's only good until 11/3. I won't have time to get the UPC.

The rebate application instructions say it needs to be postmarked no later than 12/3/2014.

11/3 is just the last day you can buy the psu and still qualify for the rebate.

Very good price. I bought one 3 years ago for about $35 AR. Too bad I already jumped on that modular Seasonic deal a week ago.
