Has anyone had any experience with the Antec Neo Power 480w PSU? I can get them for about $75.00 at work, but I'm just wondering if there's a better unit out there for the price.

I plan on building an A64 3500+ with 6800GT OC system pretty soon.

Good price, it's not the best psu, but it's still good, i'd go for it for 75 bucks for sure.

Not the best PSU ? have u even read some reviews about it?

Well, ill give u my objective opinion* Its quiet as a mouse in a deep coma, it has dual 12 V rails with 18 amps on them each...
Rock-solid as a rock in cement when it comes to (ridicolous) load changes (0.1 Voltripple when going jumping from 100 to 400 Watts)

Its modular (no cable-pyle hanging out)

downside > It has a fan-only connector, with it u allow your PSU to control up to 3 case fans when case is getting warmer.. > i plugged on 2 case fans, but had to kickstart one of them on occasion... > In my case the fan connector is only really good for 1 case fan.....

Read some reviews about it at site's like these, ... if u find anything bad about the Neopower 480, let me know please....

*disclaimer: lol, maybe not so objective, but its a very good PSU, like all Antecs

For 75 dollars? buy it now, unless it fell on the floor 10 times

I've got one on my rig (see sig), and I'm 100% satisfied with it. Don't let people fool you into believing that a dual rail PSU will suck. Some do, but one does fine on my system and that's what I know. You can't go wrong with it, and at that price I'd buy a few and sell them!

Antec NeoPower ? The NeoPower's modular design is a huge improvement over the mess of unused cables that plagues most systems, and I suspect we'll see all high-end power supplies eventually jump on the bandwagon. Antec also scores points for the NeoPower's remarkably low noise levels, consistent voltages, and low AC ripple. Unfortunately, our NeoPower suffers from a low 12V rail and high power consumption. Neither are deal breakers, especially since our 12V readings are within Antec's +/- 3% tolerances, but they hold the NeoPower just shy of Editor's Choice gold.

That's a quote from the link that you gave. Wow, 2nd place, shucks.

Buy this thing in a heart beat for such a cheap price. It has a $150 MSRP, for $75 it's a no brainer.

Blah blah blah, What I mean was for its retail price, 150 I believe, its an okay PSU but for the price he is getting it at, its a good deal. Dont get me wrong, its a nice psu, I just prefer OCZ 520 Powerstream.

You can get sparkle and forton 530 watters for 100 bucks with good rails.

I replaced my True550 with a NeoPower 480, and haven't had any problems. The modular cables are fantastic, and the thing is damn quiet. Highly recommended.

I already know some one with the PSU "ertrad," stop assuming things without evidence. Stop talking things about computers personal, I didn't say anything bad about it did I? rofl. All I said is for the money you can Get a 500/530 watt Forton for less with just as good/better qaulity.
