Antec Neo 480

I thought i read somewhere that some of Asus mobo(Amd 939 version) have problems sometimes with this psu because it a modular psu? Is this true? Is it better to get a non modular one or does it make a difference?

Is this Psu ok for an asus board (like and asus sli )

It's not because it's modular, but there have been some compatability issues for some unknown reason. If you get one that doesn't work Antec will replace it (not sure if you have to pay P&P though). It's a good PSU design.

Modular is a nice little extra for cable management and neatness, but since i rarely look inside my computer and can organise the cables well enough anyway the extra cost for modular features doesn't appeal.

Just the NeoHe.

Oddly it should be a really good PSU, the ones that don't have compatability issues are well made and have very nice specifications. However some of the early ones at least had compatability issues with the Asus range of motherboards.

Bob is there an issue with just the Neo 480 or is it an issue with all antec psu in general?

Just the NeoHE series I think.

Stay away from them if you use Asus A8N boards, plus there are probably better PSUs for the price.

Its a different line and different design to the HE one so you'll probably be ok. Having said that i haven't seen any reviews of it either, so unless anyone finds a good review of it i'd edge towards a different brand.
