I can't say I like it too much, flimsy, but lightweight. Paid $50 for it and I am not sure it was worth it at all. I am having a hard time deciding whether to keep it and build with a A7N8X Deluxe or go with the Shuttle SN45G XPC. Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone own a Shuttle or this case and care to give their opinion? It would be my main and only rig.

Current system spec:
K7S5a
XP 1600+
Maxtor 60gb
TB Santa Cruz
NIC
Modem
TV Tuner

I figured if I went with the shuttle I could ditch the TBSC, NIC, and Modem.

I would go with the shuttle and I did. Yes all those things are onboard the shuttle. The best advantage is that you get to save the space. Plus I think that the design is for portablity. If you lAN then this is just what the doctor ordered.

If you dont lan I would just stick with the antec case, that way you have room to add more cards and drives in the future if you wanted.I used to own that case and really liked it,it does seem kind of flimsy but once the side is screwed on and everthing is tight its not so bad,at least if your not going to be moveing it around alot

I am not that familar with the mobo that he has so I can't say weather he has a lot of slots left for upgrading. But if he does not get an upgraded case then he could just upgrade the CPU for about $103 usd with a Athlon XP 2600+.

Well if you want to save money, you might as well use all the parts you have.

but I highly suggest a shuttle XPC, they have everything you need, save space and are cool/fun. I absolutely love both of mine and will never go back a midtower again.

If you plan out your system well, you should never need to worry about adding drives or cards.

My rig has 2 x 120GB hard drives, CDRW, video card and TV card. I can't imagine needing any more slots for anything. DVD-/+RW's are dropping in price and are a good replacement for having a DVD-ROM and CD-RW.

IMO,
the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz is a higher quality sound card than the Nforce 2 audio of the SN45G. I had both and compared them with my own ears. When you turn off your computer, the santa cruz doesn't allow that degrading signal to produce a "popping" noise from your speakers, the Analog output on Nforce 2 systems DOES produce that annoyong "POP" sound. I'm hoping the digital outputs eliminate this anomaly.

I have 2 SFF PC's and love them both. For my main machine, I have an AMS Gbox 968, 17" LCD PS2, Logitech Z560's all crammed on a 30" wide computer cart. Biggest issues you will face are fan noise (easily fixable) and more heat buildup than regular ATX.

I built a couple for friends too.
