CompUSA has the original Antec LANBOY for $60 after a $20 rebate. Use the free shipping code, which can be found @ chubby billfold, and save even more.

Interesting, the rebate is from manufacturer but has 'from CompUSA' all over it.

Circuit City has a $30 rebate at B&M (regular LanBoy is no longer listed on-line) on the same case. If you pricematch CompUSA's price at Circuit City B&M and then get the rebate you do a little better. Granted, no free shipping and you have to get off your butt and go get it... :D

(rebate good on LanBoy cases purchased between 3-1-04 and 3-31-04) Should just print out when you buy it. YMMV getting the price match. Our Circuit City computer dept. guys are actually decent.

It is a nice case, and the TrueBlue Power Supply & free carrying straps are sweet too.

I apologize for my ignorance, but what is Circuit City B&M? I checked out their site and couldn't find a listing of any rebate for this case.

Thanks.

B&M = brick and mortar, i.e. a real store, not a website.

How much is the case at Circuit City before rebate? Did you pricematch the CompUSA website price before or after rebate?

CC pricematched CompUSA website price before the rebate. CC had this in their computer to match, she didn't even go to CompUSA's website to check. $77.99 (no sales tax, but no schools in Oregon). And then the $30 rebate printed out.

I forget how much it was before the pricematch, I think $120 or so.

In-store at CompUSA in my area (Minneapolis) it is still $99 (at least that's what the price tag says). Wouldn't CC match the b&m price instead of the online price? I don't think I've ever done a successful PM at CC.

OOS now at CompUSA. Not available in any of the Chicago area stores either. That was quick.

Anyone have a printout of the web page before the case sold out online at Compusa?

Price matching is always YMMV!
If you get stuck with a manager whose bonus is on the line or a CSR who just doesn't like your type then they'll use any excuse, and it won't really matter...
I didn't get hassled about the price, I got hassled on whether the closest CompUSA was 'local' (ie within 50 miles) as CC's policy is only to pricematch local competitors.
At my CC, the guys in the tech dept. have a couple PCs online and will let you show them a deal you want to pricematch. As long as the site has a local store it's no biggie. Most outfits B&M stores will match their own website's price if there is a better deal online; an argument you can sometimes using during the 'haggle' part of a price match.

I know that price matching is always YMMV. I meant that it was a pretty big YMMV depending on your store, especially since the CompUSA site now says "Out Of Stock". I have had good luck with one of my local Circuit City's though. They look at the ad and don't usually bother to check stock at the other store. I doubt that I could get it by them with a big "out of stock" message in the corner of the ad though.

This Circuit City also doesn't freak out when the machine spits out a rebate after I've gotten the great price match price. I've had some stores either crumple up the receipt or not want to give it to me.

I guess nobody got saved a printout the site before the case went out of stock. Oh well.. I'll have to try and remember to do that myself next time in case a price matching opportunity presents itself.

Nice case! I built mine with a Shuttle AN35N MB from Newegg and dual UV light sticks and 2 UV reactive fans from SVC. I call this my Florida GATOR PC since it has blue LED on the PSU and I used one orange and one blue/orange UV reactive fan. Awesome color combo that matches the UF colors. Got an AMD Mobile XP 2400 CPU on the way to juice it up a little bit! Now I gotta find a Gator case badge.
