Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Diamond like the worst conductor of heat?

Anthough I am Antec fanboy, when it comes to Thermal compound I only trust AS, lately I have been using AS5-12G - Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound, and it works wonders.

Diamond is comprised of carbon which is actually substantially better at thermal conductivity than common metals (including silver!). fralexandr's second link shows the table of conductivity. Unfortunately, implementations of it rarely reflect its supremacy but the diamond based compounds almost always top lists of comparisons. The only drawback is that the diamond particulate can gouge the CPU heatspreader which leaves scratches that could affect resaleability if you are into selling old parts.

Formula 7 works excellent. It is close to IC Diamond.

I actually started using it on my GPUs and it cuts the temps down quite a bit. It doesn't appear to be abrasive either.
