Antec DF85 2.5" drive bracket

MustISO

Lifer
Anyone have an Antec DF85 and have SSD's installed in a bracket that aligns properly with the SATA backplane. I'd like to replace all my mechanical drives with SSD's but I'm not sure which bracket will work well in this case.

Take advantage of the fact that SSD's don't need to be aligned vertically or horizontally for platter balance. I like to use adhesive backed velcro and stick them wherever cable management and airflow make the most sense.

Don't have a DF85... not sure what an SATA backplane is.

However, I have a P183 without any 2.5" mounts. Zip-tied my SSD for a year, then got tired of having it sit around so crudely. I got two of these:

They fit both my Intel SSD and a Western Digital 2.5" HDD through the side holes. The bracket, in turn, fits into the standard 3.5" HDD mounts in my case. This bracket fits 2 drives each though, so it may not fit any dedicated 2.5" or single-drive brackets. For $8 and returnable, might be worth a shot.

Thanks, that bracket might work, I just need to be sure the connectors line up.

In the DF85 they have hot swap SATA connectors that the drives connect to. Similar to what you'd see in a server where there's a hard connector in the back of the drive slot. The cables connect to the back of the hard connectors so making sure the drive lines up right is the only way this would work. May just have to grab a few at Microcenter and return whatever doesn't work.
