Seems pretty disappointing as far as features go. So many little things I don't know how case manufacturers don't include them, you'd think they'd be standard, especially on a full size case.

One thing the article didn't mention is cable management. It doesn't look like it has any.

Doesn't need any. No one would ever notice the cabling. :p They'd be too stuck on how horrid the exterior looks to worry about it. lol.

Why antec, oh why. Why not make a large full featured solid sonata-like enthusiast case? Something that looks classy, is set up for water cooling and optimized to be silent, but has good cooling?

My guess is that Antec made the mistake of thinking that the appeal of the CM HAF models is because of, rather than in spite of, their looks.

damn, that case looks like my haf 932 and more menacing looking too. Looks like a Decepticon in disguise. nice good to see antec take some chances in a new direction!

Well Antec's aesthetics have gone straight down hill since they released the P183...now they have plunged off a cliff. They must have fired all of their designers and left it up to a forum full of 12 year old kids (4chan)

I heard the price is $180-$200 or so, this puts it into high end chassis section where Lang Li has great aluminum cases to compete against this. I would say this might be more like $140-150 ish case considering plastic w/ steel construction. The more I look at it the more I believe it's a haf x competitor both price-wise and even features like hot pluggability of 2.5" drives are something taken straight from haf x.

I kinda like the Bar thingies instead of a full sized Door for CD/DVD/BD Drive Bays. Not crazy on how they look, but the idea of Individual covers per Bay is nice. I really hate seeing CD/DVD/BD Drives.

i actually dont mind the look as much, but i still prefer the coolermaster HAF designs to this thing. functionally the entire lineup is just their 300/900/1200 with a whole lot of fail tacked on the outside to make it look different. i dont know why anyone in their right mind would buy one of these when you consider the complete lack of ANY cable management options and modern layouts that other manufacturers have been adopting on even some of their cheapest models for a couple years now

wow, that is really ugly.

what the fuck happened at antec? they had a design crew that put out several dead ringers right in a row (p18x, antec Fusion, NSK series...), then went right to shit....

I'd much rather have a Three Hundred, Nine Hundred, or Twelve Hundred over one of these things. In fact, most of the interior looks identical.

While we’re at it… the easiest way to show you how the case REALLY looks and performs is by giving one out to an Anandtech forum goer!

Here’s how this is going to work: Between now and the end of the weekend, vote on which forum user YOU think deserves a shiny new Dark Fleet DF-85 case in this thread. We’ll tally up the votes on Monday, post the winner, and ship the case out to the user with the most votes. And no, you can’t vote for yourself!

Good luck and happy voting.

WOW welcome to AT

Im assuming you will be the offical CS for Antec?

We miss the classic yet beautiful design u guys had in the p180 series.
I still love this case for air builds, as it meets almost every function you would want.

with this case it feels like you guys are following coolermaster, and thats not something a lot of us here like.

I personally think you guys should join the other case makers and make a true water friendly case which could support a 120x3 radiator mounted up top.

Also your current water cases are not acceptable as well as the aluminum radiator used in those cases. Mixing Aluminum and Copper, which most waterblocks are made out of, is the biggest taboo in watercooling you can do today.

Can we vote for mods/admins? It always seems like they're excluded from every contest since they're staff.
