I have an Antec SLK2600AMB and whenever I first turn it on, I hear a rattling inside. I don't think its the CPU fan, because I am using a CoolerMaster XDream which has the adjustable fan speed, and I turn that all the way down and the rattling is still there. Could it be the power supply? After about 10 minutes, the sound goes away and it just spins quietly.

It just doesn't sound too good when I turn it on. Any ideas what this might be?

did you check all your fans to make sure they're clean? sometimes dirty fans can make a racket - check northbridge fan, vid card fan, etc.

Also is it your hard drive? sometimes they get loud before they get ready to die.

Final suggestion: the patented, time honored, and tried-and-true HOSE TRICK. cut a length of hose (garden hose works fine) and use it like a stethescope (sp?) moving it around inside your case to help you localize the noise source.

peace.

The PSU fan could be the culprit. On that case they use the SL300S power supply, which has one fan (probably sleeve-bearing). If that proves to be the case when you investigate with the hose trick, then call Antec or email them and ask about RMA'ing the power supply, since it comes with a three-year warranty. If you don't want to go through that hassle and are comfortable with the idea of opening your PSU (which contains dangerous voltages in its capacitors even when unplugged), then you could wire in a Panaflo L1A in place of the stock fan and you're back on the road.
