Antec case side panel duct?

It seems it is useless, if I use a tower style hsf, since it won't pull or push out the air through the duct.
Should I get a conventional style hsf to take advantage of the duct, or just block it off, get a more popular tower style hsf?

I usually take off the duct and stick an 80mm fan there.

If I have a tower cooler, I usually don't buy a case with side fans.

I usually take the duct out and block the hole off.
