Antec Aria Front USB ports

I am wondering if anyone else that uses the Aria ran into the same problem with the front USB connectors. I am using an MSI K8MM-ILSR mobo which has 4 internal USB headers. The 4 ports in the back work at USB2.0 speeds but the front ones do not. They work at USB 1.1 speeds. Anyone have any ideas of what I could be doing wrong? The card reader is recognized also but since I have no flash media I have no way to test it out. Any help would be appreciated. The only thing I could find here was this thread. Thanks for any help.

What kind of cable(s) goes to the front panel ports? Can you tell if they are shielded? It may require peeling back some of the outer insulation on them. Antec is known for having under-spec front-panel USB cables that won't work at USB 2 speeds - perhaps one of their suppliers tried to put one over on them because you can't really tell them apart w/o cutting some insulation.
. If you get in touch with Antec, they will send you a replacement kit. Check the Antec site first in the Aria FAQ to see if that's a known problem. I see it all the time on other models.
. But first, make sure all your USB ports show up in the Device Manager and that they are listed as USB 2 there. You may have to download the latest Via USB 2.0 driver and uninstall the old and install the new. Remember for USB2 to work, XP must be updated to at least SP1 and Win2k needs to be at SP4.

i have winxp SP2 installed. I have no idea about the cables. When I look in the device manager none of the ports are USB 2.0. But the back ones do work at 2.0 speed. To transfer a 1.5gb file from my usb drive it took 50 seconds using any of the four on the back. When I used the two ports on the front it took 27 minutes for the same file. Thanks for the help Zepper. I did not even think to look in the Antec website.

I'm having the same problem as Quiq with the identical setup (mobo at newest BIOS and XPsp2). I called Antec and they sent out a new front PC board connector, but the USB 2.0 devices that I use are still only being "seen" at 1.1, not 2.0. Odd thing is that when I plug in the MSI "branded" bracket from my MSI-K6V onto the MSI K8MM-ILSR all my USB 2.0 devices are seen as 2.0. I called Antec again and they said their connector is built to the "Intel standard". Any ideas before I start calling MSI?

Thanks
PSM

Just an update: after a bit of work with MSI, they had me not use the second ground pin on the USB connector from the Aria case (pins 9 and 10 in this case). Once these were excluded, the front ports now work at the proper speeds.
