I'm looking for a cube shaped case where I can put any micro ATX motherboard in it and not be restricted to the proprietary motherbaords that many cube sized cases come with. I saw the Antec Aria as one option. Is there any chance I could find an Antec Aria without the power supply included for a much lower price. I've been able to find it for as low as $85.00 with the power supply included, but I don't want the power supply that comes with it and just want the case. Are there any other cube shaped cases that allow you to fit your own micro ATX motherboards besides just the Antec Aria? That is if you can't buy an Antec Aria without the power supply.

Suggestions and advice greatly appreciated.

Chances of putting a different PSU inside that case are slim to nil, unless it's made to go into that same size/shape case (good luck). I setup my server inside the Aria and the PSU isn't junk or even close. I'll be building up a new server in the coming month (before Halloween) with another Aria case and an Athlon64 processor. As a server, I don't need anything above the onboard video. Even though the mobo I'll be using (from MSI) supports/has an 8x AGP slot in it. If you like the case, just get it...

What are the reasons why you don't want the included PSU??????????

you wont be able to fit any standard sized atx psu in that case. i'm not sure if the psu that comes with the aria is custom, but the only way to put in a different psu is by getting one that's the same size as the stock one or by modding the case.

I understand that you want to use a different psu. Unless you go smaller, you'd have to do an external psu mount.

I like the idea but I'm not sure how you will pull it off.

Whatever you do, take pics.

I want a different PSU because I'm looking to mod the case and build an entirely fanless PC and that power supply included is not fanless. I'm thinking about using an EPIA micro power supply which is small and should fit if I modify the case.

well, I just blew my power supply on my aria, but newegg RMA'd me a new one. I haven't read any bad things about the PS that comes with it, but if my experience isn't unique, you may be able to find one used. My case had plenty of scuffs all over it, though.

the PS is a custom one (got silly intake holes and a weird indentation ledge to allow clearance for other internal parts in the case.

I was looking at getting a fanless PS to replace it, but I couldn't find anything that would fit. (looking at the phantom, specifically)

the stock ARIA PS isn't quiet, but from what I've read, if you get rid of the extra grill on the back, in front of the fan, that reduces some noise, and there's other measures you can take to quieten it a little.

I've been running a 2.8Ghz with a zalman 6500CU, and a little 40mm chipset fan on top of it. runs fine. Loudest part is my Seagate SATA drive most of the time. (PS fan will speed up under long, high loads, but still not as loud as my last comp)
