Antec Aria CPU cooling

I just noticed today then when you set the CPU fan to blow air out of the HS, instead of blowing in, my temperatures improved a lot. My idle fell from 50C to 48C and my load fell from 68C to 61C. Not only that but during prime95 my system temp is only 36C instead of being in the mid 40s. My heatsink is Thermalright SLK-900A, system is basically the same as below, except diff motherboard, case, no fan controller. Dont know if it will help everyone because I modded the PSU fan and have a new pci blower, so it exhausts air much better then a stock aria, but if any of u guys are having problems with ur cooling on the Aria, this could help. If any of u have arias, post ur results 🙂

good stuff. what exactly did you do to the psu fan, and what pci blower did you use?

I originally had a 1.3ghz athlon, ti4200, on a asus a7v400-mx, and my temps were extremely high. I was using stock cooling and the cyclone, and my temps were ~60C and sometimes higher.

I then switched to a 2600+ Sempron, which brought things down a bit in to the 50C range. Not great but an improvement.

Then I was like screw it, and went socket 754 with a 2800+. I thought the zalman 7000 would be a good heatsink because it might circulate the air better. I chose the Abit KV-80 because it seemed to have a better northbridge heatsink than other brands, and the agp slot was a slot further down than other boards (i figure the further down the graphics card is the better).

Now my temps are really low, about 30C idle and get up to 38C on heavy gaming. Such a crazy difference. Now the only thing is my cyclone blower is my loudest fan, because I put a vf700 on my graphics card and thats dead silent.

If it still wasn't cool enough, then I could have put a second cyclone blower in the first slot since the agp on the KV-80 occupies the second slot. That way I could have a blower by the northbridge and on the other side of the graphics card.
